The World selects up to 130 peace and development leaders from around the world to receive fully funded academic fellowships to pursue a certificate program or master’s degree program.

Note: Members of the Fellowship cannot study at the Rotary Peace Center in their home country, except for candidates from Thailand who can attend the University of Chulalongkorn and Ugandan candidates who can attend the University Center in Makerere.

Host Organization:

USA: Master of International Development Policy Program (MIDP) or various degrees offered by the University of North Carolina

Japan: Master’s Degree in Peace Studies

England: Advanced Practice in Peacebuilding and Conflict Resolution MA

Australia: Master of Peace and Conflict Studies (MPACS)

Sweden: Peace and Conflict Studies (MS.Sc.)

Thailand (certificate program): Professional Development Certificate in Peace and Development Studies (PgCert)

Uganda (certificate program)

Eligible Nationality:

USA, UK, Australia, Thailand, Sweden, Japan ,Thailand, Uganda

Level of Study:

Professional Development Certificate Program or Postgraduate Degree Program in Peace and Dispute Resolution and Prevention

Number of Award:

Up to 50 fellowships for master’s degree and 80 for certificate studies are awarded each year.

Eligibility:

  • The Rotary Peace Fellowship is designed for professionals with experience in international relations or peace and conflict prevention and resolution work. Applicants must meet the following requirements:
  • Must have three years (five years for Duke program) for the Master’s program
  • Must have five years of relevant work experience for the Certificate Testimonials Program and be able to plan their peace promotion with the Rotary Mission (Candidates from the University of Makerere must be from Africa, have worked in Africa or work with the African community or enterprise)
  • Should Be proficient in English
  • Should Have a bachelor’s degree
  • Demonstrate leadership skills
  • Have a strong commitment to cross-cultural understanding and peace

Application Procedure:

The deadline for candidates to submit applications to their respective Rotary district is 15 May 2022. Districts must submit endorsed applications to The Rotary Foundation by 1 July 2022.
